For the second consecutive year, local pro-life leaders have organized a March for Life through downtown Mobile. This year’s event will begin at about 1 p.m. Jan. 19, soon after the 12:10 p.m. Mass at the Cathedral-Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Speakers will deliver messages outside the Cathe- dral before the march begins around 1:45 p.m. down Dauphin Street. Following the march, organizations who spread a pro-life message, a pro-life message that includes conception until nat- ural death, will have tables set up in Cathedral Square. Local pro-life leaders again organize march through downtown Mobile By MARINELLA LENTIS For The Catholic Week MONTGOMERY — Priests from Montgomery parishes are team- ing up for a new series of talks titled “Forward in Faith” and set to start on Jan. 11 that aims to help people recog- nize the practical relevance of theol- ogy in everyday life. The one-hour meetings will be every five weeks and all sessions will begin at 7 p.m. at the high school chapel on the Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School campus. Each topic presented will deal with making theology rele- vant to our living experience.Fr.Patrick Driscoll, pastor of Holy Spirit Parish, will kick off the series with a talk on faith in public life, and will be followed by Fr. Nicholas Napolitano, parochial vicar of St. Bede the Venerable Par- ish, who will go over the basics of the Catholic faith. Fr. Alex Valladares, pas- tor of St. Bede, will discuss living litur- gically and Fr. Michael Sreboth, pastor of Our Lady Queen of Mercy Parish, will close the series on how parts of the Mass fit together. Fr. Francis Sofie, pas- tor of St. Peter Parish, will head the fall series in September. Tom Riello, director of Faith For- mation at Holy Spirit Parish and head of the Theology Department at Montgomery Catholic, is responsible for bringing the priests together for these monthly catecheses.
