2018 GRADUATION SUPPLEMENT JUNE 8, 2018 PAGE 7-A Lesli W. Bordas, PhD, Associate Professor of Chemistry, received the Rev. Edward B. Moody, SJ, Teacher of the Year award at the 2018 com- mencement exercises. This recognition is made annually to the professor who has displayed excellence in the fulfillment of the teaching mission of the College. Anindya Biswas, PhD, Assistant Professor of Business, was presented with the Dawson Research Award, made to the professor who has demonstrated excellence in scholarship. Catherine A. Swender, PhD, Associate Professor of English, received the Dawson Service Award, made to the professor who has displayed excellence in service to the College. Patrick Sprague, Senior Associate Director of Admissions, was presented the Rewak Award, in honor of Rev. William Rewak, SJ, former president of the College and sponsored by Arlene and Mayer Mitchell, friends and benefactors of Spring Hill College. This award recog- nizes a faculty or staff mem- ber who represents in a sig- nificant way the Jesuit ideal of service. Rebecca Keeney was pre- sented with the Toolen Award, given to the graduat- ing senior who has achieved the highest grade point aver- age during the entire course of study, having completed her degree program with straight As or a perfect 4.0 grade-point average. SHC AWARDS Cameron Byrne and Joseph Nolan were presented with Ignatian Awards at commencement exercises. These are the highest student awards bestowed by Spring Hill College and are presented to one graduating woman and one graduating man who have best fulfilled the ideals of Jesuit education for scholarship, leadership and service during their four years at Spring Hill College. “As you have achieved the goals you have set, continue to set goals.
