It is why as an adult I still regularly attend Mass and chose to send my own children to Catholic schools. —Melissa Blanchard, alumna and parent Catholic schools exemplify the love of neighbor. It’s really the most supportive community I’ve ever seen. In good times and in challenging times, the school com- munity supports one another and also others outside the school communi- ty. There is a quality of goodness that permeates through its students, faculty and families and shines outward to the community in which we work and live. —Megan Sebastian Sparks, parent Receiving a Catholic education nour- ished my faith, instilled in me a love of learning and a strong work ethic that has stayed with me into adulthood. —Katherine Nobles Spadafora, parent and alumna I was blessed to attend a Catholic school and I feel blessed to be teaching at Corpus Christi. Being part of such a school community strengthens your faith. Growing up at Corpus Christi gave me a solid foundation, and as a teacher, I am unashamed of my faith and I live it as an example to my students. —CaitlynDeMouy, teacher and alumna Photo by Stephanie Gillis In seventh-grade religion class, students at Corpus Christi Catholic School learn about the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Part of the lesson includes each student creating a “Spiritual Su- perhero.” The students name their superheroes and explain the special ability of each which relates to the Gift of the Holy Spirit. Reflecting on their own lives, students list ways to use these Gifts to help others. Gaby Jalkh, Maggie Heller and Meghan Jones show off their Spiritual Superheroes. Miss Pasquale is working with Braxton McLeod, Marley Walsh and Damian Gonzalez on nonfiction cause and effect relationships by playing a game in which they match phrases that are printed on playing cards. Catholic schools contribute to this community by developing character through Jesus’ teachings. —Patricia Pitt, grandmother My family has been strengthened by the individual attention that Catholic schools provide and just knowing that someone cares. —Terry Williams, parent Seventh-grade students enjoy a Q & A session with pastor Fr.
