What Type of Funds are in The Catholic Foundation? There are three types of funds within The Catholic Foundation: 1. Endowed Funds : These are funds created in perpetuity, of which the principle is never invaded. The principal is the initial gift given to establish the fund. Endowment funds grow through sound investment as well as additional donations. Annual distributions are made from investment earnings according to donor intent. 2. Charitable Trusts : These funds are invested in The Catholic Foundation but are governed by the Board of Trustees for the Charitable Trust. 3. Reserve Funds : These are funds that belong to a parish, school or ministry of the Archdiocese of Mobile and are invested in The Catholic Foundation. The funds can be withdrawn as requested by the fund owner. The mission of The Catholic Foundation is to financially sustain and enhance Catholic charitable, educational and spiritual programs and ministries of the Archdiocese of Mobile by providing an avenue for faith-based giving.
