PAGE 12 THE CATHOLIC WEEK JANUARY 24, 2025 WHAT THEY’RE SAYING: “Moving is hard for military kids. When we moved to Alabama our oldest was going into fifth grade and Montgomery Catholic was her fifth school. We can not imagine finding a better school community for our four children. What we love about Montgomery Catholic is how it embraces military families. We instantly felt connected to a loving and supportive community which has allowed our children to grow and thrive. We appreciate MCPS and their continuous support of military families.” Dave and Melissa Jarnot, military parents “The Montgomery Catholic community is blessed to have many military families. They make tremendous sacrifices for the good of our Nation including frequent moves and long separations from their loved ones. The unique experiences our military families bring to our schools of serving overseas and at home greatly enriches our student body at all of our campuses. We wish to thank and honor our military families for their sacrifice and service to our Nation.” Beth Doyle, eighth-grade English teacher SPOTLIGHT ON: At Montgomery Catholic, you will discover a community full of active duty, reservist and veteran servicemen and women. Teachers, faculty and administration work to create an environment where military students can discover their strength, potential, aspirations, resourcefulness and con- fidence all while learning to adjust and become involved in their new community and school. We are proud of our military students and look forward to having new ones join our family each year. 7th and 8th grade 334-272-2465 MONTGOMERY CATHOLIC PREP MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMPUS 5350 Vaughn Road, Montgomery AL 36116 montgomerycatholic.org WHAT THEY’RE SAYING: “Walking alongside our students in the faith has been one of the greatest joys of my life. Their receptiveness to God’s grace not only inspires one another but also myself and the entire faculty. We recently had three students join the Church at the same Sunday Mass, and having witnessed their faith and the support of their friends and family, I was reminded just how special our Montgomery Catholic community is. All glory to God!” Agnes Armstrong, alumna and theology teacher “Campus Ministry is an integral part of Montgomery Catholic. The students have many different options of how to get involved and connect with their faith. The worship nights held on campus are so special. The fall and spring retreats are the most amazing experiences for the students as they are able to worship and embrace this faith. The retreats strengthen their faith and draw them closer to Jesus.” Amanda Beesley Griffith, parent and advisory board president SPOTLIGHT ON: Service is a part of who we are as a school community and is integrated into the curriculum. We host at least one school-wide service day where all high school students serve at various sites in our community. Students also volunteer as tutors and help with campus projects and events. With our encounter program, each week a small group of high school students volunteer at the Children’s Center to serve children with special needs. 9th through 12th grade 334-272-7220 MONTGOMERY CATHOLIC PREP HIGH SCHOOL CAMPUS 5350 Vaughn Road, Montgomery AL 36116 montgomerycatholic.org
