JANUARY 10, 2025 THE CATHOLIC WEEK PAGE 9 Submitted by John Phillip AUBURN — St. Michael Catholic Grade School and the St. Michael Knights of Columbus in Auburn jointly sponsored the “Keep Christ in Christmas” poster contest for the third year. School principal Debbie Brooks and the teachers of kindergarten through fifth grade worked with students and parents on the importance of keeping the birth of Our Savior in the Christmas holiday. The students were tasked with creating a poster scene in school that depicts some aspect of the birth of Jesus. Faculty members then chose the top three winning designs in each grade. The Knights of Columbus then participated in an awards ceremony where they provided a medallion and a certificate to each winning student, along with gift cards. A highlight of the presen- tation was when Knights of Columbus Council Advocate, Dan Hatcher, presented win- ning prizes to his two winning grandchildren.
