Middle and High school students had fun eating pizza, playing games and sharing their summer stories. The youth minister, Teresa Warner, and Director of Religious Education Dalia Torres have a great year planned for all area teens who wish to belong to a vibrant youth program. ST. Purvis is the co-host of EWTN’s “Morning Glory” radio show and creator of EWTN’s “Authentically Free at Last” TV program as well as editor of the “Afri- can-American Catholic Youth Bible.” Purvis will speak to the Black Catho- lic community about the sanctity of life and other important issues. The evening will begin at 5:15 p.m. with Mass celebrated by Archbishop Thomas J. Rodi, followed by a reception, Purvis’ presentation and a question-and- answer session. Purvis will also be the keynote speak- er at the Archdiocese of Mobile’s “Called to Love” women’s conference at Corpus Christi Parish on Saturday, Oct. 6. The theme for the convention this year is “We are the Clay and You are the Potter” (We Are All the Work of Your Hands).
